Salento is one of Puglia’s huge wine growing areas and the vino is not only great value it tastes fabulous too. The food is delicious, fresh and local. And for seafood lovers …..it’s as if you’ve died and gone to heaven!.Where Is Salento?Salento is that strip of land that forms the heel of the boot (Lo Stivale). It is located between two wonderful seas: the Ionian (West) and the Adriatic (East). There is more than 250 Km of coast line.Salento is a peninsular region belonging to the South-eastern part of Puglia.Geographically speaking, Salento corresponds to the old land of Otranto.
